NIU Student Hoards Squirrels in Dorm

NIU Student Hoards Squirrels in Dorm

By Miranda Puskar - Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014

Dekalb, Ill- A Northern Illinois student has been hoarding wild squirrels in his dorm room since the start of the fall semester.

Andrew Coleman, a senior at NIU has been hoarding 12 wild squirrels in his dorm room in Stevenson Towers. Coleman has been fined by University Housing Services for the incident.

Coleman has refused to speak on the subject, but it is believed that he was hoarding the squirrels for recreational purposes. The university confirms there is nothing university related that would require a student to capture any amount of wild squirrels.

The 12 squirrels were found when Aurora Macek, a resident assistant at Stevenson Towers was walking down Coleman's hallway. Macek heard a constant loud scratching sound coming from Coleman's room. Macek tried knocking on Coleman's door for approximately 20 minutes.

When there was no response, Macek reported the incident to University Housing Services and was forced to unlock the door and see what the cause of the sound was. When Macek opened the door, she heard squealing and louder scratching. The noises led Macek to Coleman's closet where she found the 12 squirrels in a large cage.

"I was so surprised to find the squirrels. That is the last thing I thought would be scratching the walls, said Macek. "It was very dangerous for everyone in this residence hall. They could have escaped and nobody knows what kind of diseases they could have had."

Coleman still lives in the same room, but the squirrels have been removed. University Housing Services have required weekly check ups on the room. For any further information, contact Miranda Puskar at theinquiryblog@gmail.com

“Robbie” Garza to Appear in Court

Chicago, Ill-    D-list celebrity Jesus “Robbie” Garza will appear in court October 13th, 2014.
` Last Saturday, September 6th, Garza was arrested for identity fraud in New York.
Garza was visiting New York during fashion week, where he was attempting to sell himself in order to meet designers and models and attend fashions shows. He has always been infamous for his claim to fame. The internet and the bar scene.
Garza was unsuccessful during his trip to New York as the only excitement he left with was seeing the statue of liberty. Garza was at the airport when he unintentionally exposed himself as a thief of identity. Garza was using an identity that was not his own in order fund his traveling from Illinois to New York.
“I knew something was odd when Robbie used an unfamiliar ID while receiving our boarding pass.” said Mark Dawn, acquaintance of Garza. “I’m ashamed to say I was romantically involved with a criminal.”
The court date was rapidly decided by identity fraud specialist Tom Manguer. “Identity fraud and credit card theft are both very serious issues that must be dealt with urgently.” said Manguer.
Garza has been issued a public defender due to lack of his own funds to hire a professional lawyer. Garza could face up to 20 years in prison for this offense.
